Costs : Virgin
Virgin
Virgin uses the T-Mobile network which means that coverage is the same as for T-Mobile.
Virgin Contract
You can now have a monthly contract from Virgin. There are a choice of packages which each come with a free phone. You can choose a 12 or 18 month contract and when this comes to an end, you can either choose a new phone or reduce your monthly charge to the cheaper tariffs available.
All inclusive calls can be used to any UK network or landline, at any time.
When inclusive minutes and texts, if applicable, have been used up, standard Virgin charges come into place.
PAYG
You can choose whether you pre-pay or pay by Direct Debit for your PAYG phone calls.
PAYG Bundles
Virgin have a selection of bundles to choose from, see the table below. Either calls, texts, or a mixture of calls and texts or texts and pictures. It may save you money to have a bundle, but work out who your calls are made to and whether they are long or short, as you could end up paying more!
Virgin bundles can be added to your account whenever you choose and they will continue until you cancel them. Only one bundle can be added at a time and if it runs out before the end of the month you pay for your calls at the normal virgin mobile rates.
You can change your bundle type at any time, but must wait until the next month before it comes into force. You must give at least two days notice.
Unused time is rolled over to the next month even if you change your bundle.
Group Call
With Virgin, you can make a call with up to 20 people at the same time. The other people can be on any mobile network, on a landline, or even abroad.
It will cost each person involved in the call their normal call cost to a Virgin mobile phone. As a Virgin customer the costs are standard, 15p per minute for the first five minutes in a day and 5p per minute after.
